Abstract
This grey gold alloy contains > 2 </= 12 % of Mn and 5.5-18 % of Pd as whiteners, Mn being used to replace Ni completely so as to obtain an alloy free from any allergenic element. The alloy obtained has hardness and deformability properties which make it suitable for use in jewellery and in particular for the manufacture of watch cases. Its colour is sufficiently white not to make it necessary to coat it with Rh to make it whiter.
