Divided out of 637,291 under which a Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 23, 1946. Drawings to Specification. [Class 108 (iii)] A shock-absorbing device has a pair of mutually telescopic cylinders, a pair of spaced packings between the cylinders, a hydraulic cylinder-and-plunger couple within the pair of telescoping cylinders and serving to resist their mutual collapse, the hydraulic resisting device comprising a ram carried by one of the cylinders and extending axially thereof and operating in an axially-extending chamber on the other cylinder, and an air cell closed except for communication with the space between the packings and located in the annular space between the hydraulic resisting device and the adjacent cylinder wall. Apart from the fact that the claims differ, the subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that described in Specifications 637,291 and 637,356.
