637,181. Electromagnets. SOUNDSCRIBER CORPORATION. March 13, 1947, No. 6999. Convention date, April 21, 1944. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXVIII] A dictating machine (see Group XXXVIII) comprises an electromagnet with a composite armature, one part 74 being pivoted on a light spring 77 secured to a non-magnetic member 70 pivoted on a strong spring 68 to the bracket 65 of the magnet, whereby energization of the magnet first rocks the part 74 about the spring 77 and then moves the parts 74 and 70 bodily about the spring 68. Specifications 558,552 and 629,193, [both in Group XXXVIII], are referred to.
