Abstract

636,804. Gutters. MUNDY, A. A. May 4, 1948, No. 12262. [Class 20 (iv)] A gutter, of rectangular or other section, for use in the valley between adjacent roof spans of greenhouses &c. comprises a channel section metal member supported by pillars 8, each side wall of which has outwardly extending ribs 2, 3 engaging the lower ends of glazing bars, rafters or the like. Tiles may be supported upon the rafters, but, as shown the lower ends of glazing bars 4 which provide support for panes of roofing glass 5 are screwed to the lower ribs 3. Channels 7 formed between ribs 3, the side walls and the tapered portion of glazing bar 4, serve to carry away moisture collecting inside the roof. Glazing bars, when of metal, are bolted to the ribs.
