Abstract

841,166. Service conduits in walls; roof gutters. SNAZELL, C. W. March 6, 1959 [Dec. 6, 1957], No. 38084/57. Classes 20(2) and 20(4) [Also in Group XXVIII] A cavity wall 10 of a building contains a rain water pipe 9. In Fig. 1 the pipe 9 is flexible and extends through an opening in the wall surrounded by a frame 18 and is connected to the gutter 15 by a connecting pipe 21. A cover plate 19 for the frame 18 is formed integral with the pipe 9. The pipe may be oval and have external longitudinal ribs for engaging the brickwork and grooves for draining water. In a modification the connecting pipe 21 is in two sections one section being integral with the cover plate 19 and connected to the pipe 9 inside the wall. In Fig. 7 is shown an eaves and gutter block 44 of a further arrangement having an opening 47 connected to the upper end of the pipe 9 in the wall cavity. Block 44 forms one of a course of blocks 45 extending over the cavity in the wall. A grill is fitted in grooves 53. The lower end of the pipe 9 passes out of the wall through a frame 18 and engages in an outlet pipe integral with the frame cover.
