636,520. Clamping devices. HAAS, W., and MECANIS AKT.-GES. Aug. 25, 1948, No. 22418. [Class 61 (ii)] In a clamping device a fixed jaw h and a holder a for the movable jaw b are bolted at l and k to the bench i. Rotation of the eccentric c by means of a lever, causes the jaw b to move forward in an inclined guideway in the holder a, against the pressure of a spring f, thereby clamping the work g against the surface of the bench and the fixed jaw. The holder is slotted at n to allow of adjustment of the distance between the jaws.
