Abstract

636,003. Utilizing tidal energy. McGUFFIE, P. D. March 14, 1947, No. 7082. [Class 69 (i)] To utilize the kinetic and potential energy of tidal water, a barrier is positioned in the flow stream and the water which is at the same or approximately the same level on either side of the barrier passes through a plurality of passages K, J, in each of which are situated rotors L of electrical generators. A passage Q extends below the main passages K, J, and water flowing therethrough clears the entrances to these passages of silt. Specification 590,331 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 590,331.
