Abstract

635,606. Lubricating arrangements of textile spinning &c. spindles. OKUNIEW, W. Oct. 15, 1947, No. 27615. [Class 120 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIV] In an arrangement of multiple spindles such as spinning spindles, the spindles are supported on one side by metal half bearings 2 and on the opposite side by a strip of felt 5 or the like. The bearings are disposed in a longitudinal channel support 1 and are spaced apart by separators 3 containing lubricant 4 which is in contact with the felt strip 5. Textile washers 6, 12 at the ends of the bearings prevent leakage of lubricant along the spindles. Perforations 13 permit of the passage of grease to the bearings in addition to the lubricant received from the lubricant-soaked felt strip 5. In a modification, Fig. 8, the felt strip is replaced by felt pieces 5<SP>1</SP> in the vicinity of the bearings which are held in place by extensions from U-shaped clamps 31 housing the bearings 2.
