Abstract

635,539. Centrifugal separators. HUMPHREYS & GLASGOW, Ltd., WILLIAMS, N. H., and HARTLEY, W. May 3, 1948, No. 12100. [Class 23] In a cyclone separator having a dust separating chamber a, a gas discharge chamber d, and a gas discharge pipe f between them, an externally operated valve g is provided for closing the pipe as it issues into the discharge chamber. The valve is carried by an axially movable rod g<SP>1</SP> and has a flange adapted to make a seal with sand in a channel f<SP>1</SP>. The discharge chamber may be spaced from the separating chamber.
