Abstract

635,455. Stays for hinged articles. WOODWARD, D. H. E. April 20, 1948, No. 10853. [Class 65 (i)] In a casement stay of the kind comprising a bar 25 slidably mounted in a hollow retaining member 10 which is pivotally mounted on a base and contains a sliding catch 22 urged by a spring 29 to engage with notches 30 or the like in the underside of the bar, said pivotal connection is constituted by a flange 14 provided at the lower end of the retaining member and engaged between a lower plate 18 and an upper plate 19 formed with an annular housing extending around the flange. The retaining member is also provided with a screwed plug 26 having a lug 27 for engaging said notches, and with a flange 23 for limiting the downward movement of the member.
