Abstract

1,072,766. Flap stays for furniture. WILKES BERGER Ltd. May 3, 1966 [Aug. 24, 1965], No. 36318/65. Heading E2F. A flap stay comprises an arm 1 adapted for pivotal connection with a hinged flap 4 of an article of furniture 6, a guide rail 10 adapted for attachment to the article and a slide or glide 8 slidably mounted on the guide rail 10 and pivotally connected at 7 with the free end of the arm 1, the slide and guide rail or a part associated therewith co-operating together to frictionally hold the slide or glide in one or both terminal positions. Rail 10 is fitted with a projecting stud 12 near one end which forms a stop and is engaged by the slide 8 when the flap 4 is in a horizontal position. The end of the slide opposite to that which engages stud 12 is formed with an openended slot 14, for the entry of the sleeve 13 when the slide nears its opposite terminal position, so as to frictionally grip the sleeve when the flap is in the vertical closed position.
