634,485. Spanners. WEBMORE (BIRMINGHAM) & CO., Ltd., and HARRIS, I. R. Dec. 11, 1947, No. 32639. [Class 61 (iii)] In an adjustable spanner in which the fixed jaw 4 is secured to lugs 2 on a sheetmetal handle 1 of U- section, the movable jaw 7 has teeth 9 which engage a cylindrical adjusting nut 6 which is held in position solely by engagement with the sides of a rectangular slot 5 in the fixed jaw and of registering openings 3 in the lugs 2, the nut holding the stem of the jaw 7 in sliding engagement with the handle.
