[Class 131] In a dry shaver, having one or more cutting members and one or more abrading members mounted on a body rotating within a perforated sheath, the body comprises a central, driven, part and cheeks receiving the ends of the members. As shown the body comprising a central part 1 and cheeks 2, 3, is rotated, within the sheath 5, by the shaft 4. Tongues 12, 14 on the cutting members 8, auxiliary cutting members 9 and abrading members 10 are received in openings 11 in the cheek 2 and radial slots 13 in the cheek 3 on which is also mounted a holding member 15 having a radial slot 16 with which any one of the slots 13 may be brought into register for release of the members. A resilient metallic ring 19 urging protuberances 17 on the member 15 into engagement with notches 18 on the cheek 3 ensures step by step rotation of the member 15. The members 8 and 10 cooperate alternately with the perforations 32 in the sheath, the members 8 being close to, and the members 10 a little way from, the sheath. The auxiliary cutting members 9 co-operate with slots 28 which extend over the adjacent plane surface of the sheath and may be oblique or radial. An area of larger perforations covered by a pivoted lid is provided for the extraction of cut hair and the sheath 5 may be replaced by a cleaning device incorporating a casing provided with a brush for cleaning the cutting and abrading members.
