633,999. Percussive tools. AKTIEBOLAGET ATLAS DIESEL. Feb. 26, 1948, No. 5848. Convention date, March 22, 1947. [Class 124] In a percussive drill in which the bit has hard metal cutting edges, the latter are formed by axial end faces of one or more hard metal insert plates 3, the height h<SP>1</SP> of each of which in the longitudinal direction of the bit is more than two and a half times its thickness b<SP>1</SP>, and the two, preferably parallel, large side surfaces and the base of which are embedded in and supported by the body material 2 of the bit. The hard metal may be a carbide, boride, nitride or silicide of tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum or titanium.
