Abstract

633,607. Centrifugal separators. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd. (Superheater Co.). Jan.23, 1948, No. 2078. Addition to 598,160. [Class 23] The separator of the parent Specification is provided with means whereby steam or other gas which has entered the water-collecting chamber 14 is re-introduced into the separator through holes 17 where the pressure is lower than in chamber 14. The steam passes along an annulus 11 and separated water from the annular outlet 7 is drained through a pipe 21 and steam trap 18. A ring 12, having its upper portion cut away to form a passage 13, supports the inner tube 1. The steam trap contains an inverted bucket 19 which rises if steam is collected inside and shuts off the water-outlet valve 24 until the steam condenses.
