Abstract

633,523. Visible card indexes. KALAMAZOO Ltd., and POWER, R. F. Oct. 31, 1947, No. 29086. [Class 146 (i)] The leaves of a visible card index are provided at the centre of the binding edge with a broad notch of Vee or curved form extending across the margin. By this construction the overlapping leaves lie close together at the binding edge and the hinge action on turning the leaves occurs without risk of tearing or forming a fold line. The apex e of the Vee and the angles d between the Vee and straight parts c at right-angles to the edge may be rounded. The notches may be of semi-circular, semi-elliptical or other curved form, but must not be of a form involving a straight edge parallel to the binding edge.
