591,905. Binders for leaves. HIRSCH, C. Oct. 3, 1944, No. 18885. [Classes 16 and 146 (i)] Leaves 13 are temporarily or permanently bound in book form by means of split rings 12 passing through perforations in the leaves, the ends of the rings engaging channels in a backing member formed of two strips 7, 8 secured together by rivets 9 or other means along their centre lines and spaced apart at their edges. The rings may be oval or square in shape, and inadvertent endwise displacement thereof may be prevented by their frictional engagement with the strips 7, 8 or by screw stops or by turning over the end edges of the strips. Cover members may be attached to the outer strip 8.
