Abstract

632,900. Egg washers. KORTLANG, C. F. H. F., and BEGEMANN, F. Dec. 2, 1947, No. 31870. [Class 28 (ii)] A device for cleaning eggs and likeshaped articles comprises a cylindrical container 11 for washing liquid and a relatively rotatable paddle 24 on a vertical axis 21, the outer and lower edges of the paddle closely traversing the sides and bottom of the container to propel the eggs. The container has an inner removable perforated lining member 13 for removal of the eggs. A bridge rail 17 is secured diametrically on the container by bolts 18 and has a bearing 20 for the spindle 21 of the paddle, which has a radial arm 27 and a blade 24 disposed in a vertical plane at an angle of less than 180 degrees to the arm. The container or only the inner lining may be rotated, and the paddle held stationary. The liquid in the container may be heated and drained therefrom.
