Abstract

654,992. Washing appliances. COLLINSON, E. May 21, 1948, Nos. 13774 and 20422. [Class 138 (ii)] [Also in Group II] A flat-bottomed container to form a churn is attached to the oscillating spindle or paddle of a washing-machine. As shown, a cylindrical container 1 has a tubular element 10 on its under-side 2 over which stiff rubber tubing 11 is passed and secured by hose clips to attach it to the spindle of the washing-machine before or after the removal of the paddle. Alternatively the container may be laid on the paddle. The container, if cylindrical, may be formed with locating means for detachable baffles or may have baffles attached to it or the container may be flat-sided to ensure agitation of the contents. The second Provisional Specification describes stationary baffles or stirrers which are suspended in the container from an arm of the washing-machine.
