Abstract

632,890. Earth-excavating machine. SIMPSON, F. L. Nov. 18, 1947, No. 30587. [Class 68 (i)] On the front buffer-plate 13 of a motordriven mechanical shovel is bolted a plate 131 carrying two spaced supports 15, to the outer ends of which is welded a dozer blade 14, the blade being also pivotally supported from the shovel arm 1 of the machine by two spaced links 17 secured to the upper edge of the blade. The angle that the blade makes to the ground is varied by raising or lowering the shovel arm. The connections of the dozer to the chassis and the arm are so constructed that the assembly is quickly detachable.
