Abstract

632,479. Gas burners. NEAT, Ltd., F. A., and ATHILL, L. C. H. Dec. 15, 1947, No. 33014. [Class 75(i)] A burner for butane gas comprises a mixing chamber 3 closed by a cylindrical cap 5 comprising an outer cylindrical portion merging into a frusto-conical portion at the top and having a series of radial slots 8 extending substantially over the full depth of the side of the cap and over the frusto-conical portion up to the point where said portion merges with the flat-top of the cap. A metal disc 9 is supported on the cap 5 and overlaps the slots 8 to break up the flames and to protect the slots from spillage from a vessel being heated. The disc 9 and the cap 5 are attached to the mixing chamber 3 by a bolt 10 passing through the latter.
