[Class 89 (iii)] [Also in Group VIII] A combined stapler and perforator comprises. a single operating lever 5 which at one end bears freely on the upper end 4 of a staple-driver 3 and at the other end is coupled by levers 9 to two punches 14, depression of the lever 5 at a and b respectively operating the stapler and perforator. The levers 9 are pivoted at 8 to side plates 7 and are connected to the punches 14 by a cranked pin 12 movable in slots 11 in the plates. Both the staple-driver and the punches are spring-raised. The means of connection of the staple-driver and punches to the operating lever may be reversed.
