631,927. Snap-action switches; indicators. VICKERY, H. F. Jan. 1, 1948, No. 82. [Class 38(v)] A cord - operated ceiling or wall switch in which successive pulls on the cord actuate the switch mechanism to the " on " and off " positions, has an indicator to show the position of the switch mechanism. The contact carrying rocker 13 of the switch has an arm 10 on which is screwed a member 11a which extends through a slot 12 in the switch cover. 12a and has an enlarged end 11 forming the indicator. When the switch is operated by pulling the cord 14, the indicator moves from one end of the slot to the other, and by its position indicates whether the switch is on or off. The cover may have coloured markings and may be removed from the switch after unscrewing the member 11a This indicator member may be used to operate the switch should the cord become detached.
