Abstract

578,032. Press-button retractive switches. BOOTH, E. R., and MARKS, S. Aug. 2, 1944, No. 14771. [Class 38 (v)] A normallyopen, pushbutton switch comprises four movable contacts 9 mounted, with a return-spring 10, on a spindle 3, which slides in a threaded bushing 4 and is guided at its reduced end by a hole 8 in an insulating block 7 having inclined faces carrying fixed contacts 6. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the ends of the fixed contacts are bent outwards and normally engaged by the movable contacts, the latter being moved by the spindle past the bent-out portions into the " off " position.
