Abstract

739,226. Retractive switches. BOSCH GES., R. Dec. 8, 1953 [Dec. 19, 1952], No. 34047/53. Class 38 (5). The handle of an electric hand tool 10 comprises a lower metal shell 12 and an upper shell 14 fixed together by screws 13 and encloses a toggle switch 17 whose operating lever 18 is actuated by a spring-urged slidable trigger 42. The switch 17 is mounted in an insulating casing 15 having an insulating cover 16 which also encloses the switch terminals 19, 20 and a suppressor 29, the entry cable 26 being secured to the casing 15 by a clip 28. The cover 16 is held in position by a pair of cross ribs 32 with rubber pressure pads 34 formed on the interior of the upper shell 14, a projection 36 on the cover interior engaging a groove 37 in the switch 17. Should the cover be omitted and the trigger 42 actuated the switch is displaced longitudinally in the casing and the lever 18 is not operated.
