Abstract

631,474. Adjusting radio apparatus. MUFFETT, Ltd., S. H., and LEBAR, L. C. Feb. 20, 1947, No. 4971. [Class 40 (v)] In a radio receiver the stator of a tuning condenser is pivotally mounted co-axially with the rotor and is adjustable angularly relatively to the rotor by means of a gravity cam designed to move the stator through a predetermined number of degrees. As shown, the rotor 1 is secured to a spindle 3 rotatable by means of a knob 4 provided with a mark cooperating with a "band set scale, and the stator 5 is mounted on supporting rods 7 secured, to one end of a lever 8 rotatably mounted on the spindle 3. The free end of the lever is provided with a boss 12 which acts as a counterweight and co-operates with a cam 13 mounted on a spindle rotatable by means of the knob 15, a pointer carried by the knob indicating " band spread." The Provisional Specification states that alternatively the stator may be adjusted by a screw, cord drive, or gearing mechanism.
