Abstract
631,056. Glazing roofs &c. VANDERMARLIERE, J. Sept. 9, 1947, No. 24721. Convention date, Aug. 21. [Class 20(iii)] In a glazing bar comprising a web and at least one glass - supporting flange having drainage grooves for rain water and condensation, the web has at least one groove ot section corresponding to one thickened edge of an impervious malleable glass - retaining lamella fixed therein; the lamella may thus be replaced by simple longitudinal sliding. As shown in Fig. 1, the aluminium, plastic, &c. glazing bar 1 has dovetail grooves 3 into which the zinc, lead, &c. lamellµ 4 engage; the rain drainage grooves 6 are larger than the condensation drainage grooves 7, and at the lower end of the bar its base is bent up and provided with an orifice through which the water may flow. The glazing bar may be secured to purlins by feet 10, Fig. 2, having guides 15; a screw 9 passes through the foot into the lower thickened part 2 of the web of the glazing bar while further screws pass through the holes 11 into the purlin. These latter screws may also serve to secure aluminium end blocks 13 holding wood laths 13a which close the space between the pane 14 and the purlin; the blocks 13 may be set at any appropriate angle around their fixing screws, e.g. where the purlins are oblique to the bars 1.
