Abstract
630,436. Electric follow-up systems. SMITH & SONS (ENGLAND), Ltd., S., and MEREDITH, F. W. Sept. 4, 1946, No. 26633. [Class 40 (i)] In a coarse and fine electric remote control system the coarse misalignment signal is applied to a thermionic amplifier, which is biassed to the quiescent state or misalignment signals below a datum value, and the output of which is added to the fine misalignment signals. As shown, Fig. 2, the coarse misalignment signals from selsyn rotor 1 are amplified by valve 2 and applied through condenser 6, in series with the fine misalignment signals from rotor 7, to the correcting motor 24. The valve 2 is maintained quiescent by the bias at potentiometer 5 for coarse error signals below a datum limit when the fine error signals only are applied to the motor 24.
