630,055. Mine car axle mountings. ODDIE, J. M. Oct. 30, 1947, No. 28945. [Class 103 (vi)] In a mine car or the like, the wheels are carried upon stub axles 2 secured in levers 3 arranged longitudinally with each of the car side frames 4 and pivoted thereto at 5. The inner ends 7 of the levers 3 compress leaf springs 8 centrally secured to the frames 4 and the outer ends are limited to move within the straps 10. The pivots 5 may be stub shafts or rods 6 transversely connecting the frames 4 at each side and acting as door hinges if the car is of the bottom emptying type. Coil springs may be provided in combination with the brackets 10 and the springs 8 may take any other suitable form.
