687,794. Road vehicle bodies. DOLPHIN, J. R. V. Oct. 24, 1951 [Sept. 27, 1950], No. 23651/50. Class 108 (i). [Also in Group XXXIII] A collapsable amphibious road vehicle is provided with a central back-bone type of chassis 11 to which are pivoted radius arms carrying the road wheels 18, 19, 38 and 39, and a pair of punt-like members 12, 13 which accommodate collapsable seats 59-62 are hinged along their inner edges to the backbone and may be folded upwardly to enclose substantially the entire vehicle. A separate cover may be used to enclose the power unit 51, 52. To maintain the wheels in their running positions transverse leaf springs are engaged under brackets 31 secured to the chassis 11 and have their outer ends pivotally connected to the blocks 28, 29, &c. The differential &c. gears are housed within the backbone and driving connection to the rear wheels is effected through half-shafts having detachable couplings for connection to the wheels.
