Abstract
628,781. Flexible cables. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES, Ltd., and DIXON, H. J. Oct. 15, 1947, No. 27645. [Class 36] [Also in Group VI] A high-frequency electric cable for use in diathermy treatment comprises a central tube or rod 1 of lead or lead alloy having a flexible covering 2 around which is a flexible tubular conductor 3 and an insulating sheath 4. The covering 2 is preferably of insulating material such as polyvinyl chloride, while the conductor 3 consists of one or more helically applied layers or a braiding of fine wires. The outer covering 4 is preferably of polyethylene, and may be applied directly over the conductor 3, or over a helically-applied string, also of polyethylene.
