[Class 106 (iv)] [Also in Group XL (c)] A dial for radio apparatus or the like includes a translucent carrying member provided with a scale and along which a pointer is movable, the carrying member comprising a plurality of rods located in one plane, which at least at one end are curved towards a common point at which a lamp is provided for end-lighting. As shown, an opening in the front of the cabinet 1 is covered by a cloth behind which is located a loudspeaker 3 and a plurality of transparent rods 5 carrying dial marks are provided in front of the cloth, a movable pointer 6 being arranged behind the rods. The ends of the rods are curved and joined to form a substantially semi-circular plate 9 in which an aperture 11 contains a lamp 13, the lamp being concealed behind a portion 7 of the front of the cabinet. The thickness of the plate 9 may be increased in the vicinity of the lamp to enable sufficient light to be transmitted to the remote portions of the rods..
