Abstract

609,662. Mounting lamp globes. WARN, R. F. March 20, 1946, No. 8595. [Class 75(ii)] [Also in Group XV] A rotatable transparent or translucent globe illuminated by an internal electric lamp and which can serve as a hall lamp, comprises a fixed pin or spigot 10 supporting the lamp 17, a flange 5 rotatable on the spigot and detachably secured to a stiffening ring 6 fixed inside the globe, the flange covering a hole 4 in the globe large enough to pass over the lamp when the flange is detached. The globe consists of two hemispheres 1, 2 made from synthetic material and secured together by suitable adhesive. and the flange 5 and split ring 6 are attached thereto by screws 7, 8. A boss 9 on the flange is rotatable on the spigot 10 which is fixed to a cross-shaped base 11. A sleeve 13 screwed into the spigot carries a holder 16 for an electric lamp 17. A shield 22 is provided so that approximately one half of the globe is illuminated.
