555,048. Globes. JENKINS, R. G. C. (Dupler, R. R.). Oct. 1, 1942, No. 13789. [Class 146 (ii)] A globe comprises two hemispheres 13, 14 buttjointed by blocks 29 carried by arms 27 of a ring 26 carried by a bracket 24. This bracket is screwthreaded on a tube 17 flanged at 18 and tongued at 20 to secure hemisphere 14, tube 17 rotating on a hollow post 16. Post 16 carries the wires 15 for an electric lamp 23 and is secured to an arm 11 of the standard 10. The other hemisphere 13 is secured to a wire yoke 31 carried by ring 26. The blocks 29 are formed of transparent synthetic material and are curved in two directions to fit the hemispheres which may be of glass covered with a terrestrial or celestial map. Arm 11 may be replaced by a full or half-meridian ring.
