Abstract
566,587. Portable electric lamps. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and PRICKETT, A. D. June 9, 1943, No. 9280. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A portable inspection lamp comprises an apertured, opaque, hollow, cylindrical body made in two parts a, b threaded together, a disc c of insulating material secured in the part a and carrying two terminal posts e, i connected to a central spring contact d and an annular metal ring g on the opposite face of the disc respectively, and a circular metal block k carrying an incandescent lamp bulb m and a cylindrical light screen slidable in the body part b by means of a finger piece p against the resistance of a metal spring o to complete the lamp circuit. Movement of the finger piece p in different directions in a gap q in the part b may bring differently coloured portions of the screen opposite the light aperture u. The ends of the gap q are formed with retaining shoulders s. A metal band v secured to the body part a carries a suspension hook x, the stem w of the hook being formed with flats z enabling it to be used either parallel or at right angles to the surface of the body.
