[Classes 96 and 140] Felts for paper-making machines &c. have a fulled wool fibre base impregnated as by spraying or immersion, with a melamine resin, e.g. an alkylated melamine formaldehyde resin ; an accelerator, e.g. urea, hexamethylenetetramine or diammoniumhydrogen phosphate may be included. Excess resinous liquid is removed as by centrifuging, and the felt dried e.g. by a heated roller, and the resin cured, e.g. at 250‹ to 300‹ F.
