Abstract

626,272. Centrifugal pumps. DRYSDALE & CO., Ltd.. and YOUNG, J. Sept. 22, 1947, No. 23290. [Class 110(i)] The impellers of a water pump 1 and an air pump 2 are mounted on a common horizontal shaft 3, which is driven by a vertically mounted motor 4 through right angle gearing situated between the pumps. The gearing may comprise a worm 6 and wormwheel 7 or bevel or skew gears. The gear casing 9 and one-piece motor casing 8 are watertight, to permit submerged operation. Specification 308,807, [Class 35], is referred to.
