Abstract

625,802. Gas turbine plant. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. July 31, 1947, No. 20801. Convention date, Sept. 26, 1946. '[Class 110(iii)] In vehicle propulsion apparatus of the kind having a main gas turbine 16 supplying motive power for the vehicle and a plurality of independent gas producing power plants, each of the latter is in the form of an axial flow compressor 29 combustion apparatus 30 for heating at least a portion of the compressed air and an auxiliary axially arranged turbine 31 driving the compressor and actuated by the gases before leaving the power plant. The gas plants are arranged with their axes parallel to one another and to the axis of the main turbine and the exhaust conduits of the plant merge into a single tube disposed rearwardly thereof and in which is located the main turbine.
