Abstract

625,381. Dice throwers. HOLDER, H., and BISHOP, A. C. July 26, 1947, No. 20189. [Class 132 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXII] A dice throwing means utilising a dished discspring comprises an annular base 1, having a top flange 2 on which rests a dome-shaped transparent envelope 3 clamped by a bayonet ring 4 embracing a rim flange 5 on the envelope and having tongues 6 which engage beneath slots 7, a dished spring plate 8 which is normally of downwardly convex form, immediately below flange 2, supported on actuating ring 9 having its inner edge upturned at 10 and diametrically opposed L-shaped levers 11 passing through slots 12 in the flange 2. Inward pressure on the levers 11 causes them to fulcrum on the bottom plate 13, lifting the ring 9 so that edge 10 flexes the dished plate 8 until it suddenly springs to opposite curvature thus throwing the dice 15, the inherent tension of the plate 8 causing it to return to its normal curvature when pressure is released.
