640,056. Vacuum - jacketted vessels. THERMOS (1925), Ltd., and BULLARD, J. R. Dec. 23, 1947, No. 33987. [Class 64(ii)] A vacuum-jacketted bottle 5 is supported within an outer casing 6 by a member 1 receiving the base of the bottle and mounted on an element 3 of flat springy material, such as spring steel, which rests on an internal ledge, e.g. formed by the uppermost edge of the bottom 6a of the casing and is self locating centrally within the casing. The spring strip 3 is rectangular with its corners locating on the casing and a cup, e.g. of aluminium bearing a rubber ring 4 is riveted at its centre. The bottom 6a of the casing is rounded to allow flexure of the spring strip but other means of support, to the same end, are described. The member 1 may consist of a ring or a disc having radial, bent fingers (not shown).
