616,280. Stuffing-box substitutes. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TREVASKIS, H. Dec. 18, 1945, No. 34197. [Class 122 (v)] The fulcrum of a lever 3 comprises a resilient mass 4 to which the lever is bonded and and the mass is secured to a surrounding part in a fluid-tight manner. Fig. 1 shows the resilient mass 4 having a base 4a that is bonded to a disc 5 and the base 4a is clamped in a groove by a cover 6. In this construction, the lever 3 is arranged to actuate a valve 10.
