624,815. Making turbine blades. PEREGRINE, E. P., and PARSONS & MARINE ENGINEERING TURBINE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION. July 2, 1947, No. 17425. [Class 83 (ii)] In a method of making sets of turbine &c. blades, varying blade lengths; root pitch and angular root settings are obtained from identical blanks by simple machining operations. Cast or wrought blanks with cylindrical bases b and integral blades a having the same cross-section, taper and twist, have the blades cut to the required lengths and the interlocking bases c, shaped to the required angular settings and pitch dimensions, as shown in Figs. 4 and 6 by simple machining, grinding and polishing operations.
