681,920. Knives. DREW, H. Feb. 22, 1951 [Feb. 23, 1950], No. 4696/50. Class 30 Groups of grooves formed in the face of a knife blade provide groups of teeth, separated by curved recesses, in the cutting edge, the recesses of each group forming supplementary cutting edges which lie in an arc of a circle extending into the blade from the cutting edge. As shown, the blade 10 is provided, on both faces, with groups 11 of adjacent grooves 12, 13, curved recesses 14, formed by the interconnection of the grooves with the cutting edge, separating teeth 15 and forming supplementary cutting edges 16, 17 which lie in an arc of a circle extending into the blade 10. In modifications, the groups of grooves are spaced from each other by short lengths of plain cutting edge, or are provided in only one face of the blade, either close together or spaced apart by short lengths of plain cutting edge.
