Abstract
624,372. Lathe and like tail-stocks. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN. Sept. 12, 1946, No. 27461. Convention date, May 25. [Class 83 (iii)] The tail-stock socket 2 of a lathe or like machine tool is displaceable manually by means of a screw 7 and nut 6 operated by a hand wheel 8, and by fluid pressure, the fluid which is introduced at 13 or 14 acting on a piston 10 in a cylinder 11. The screw is held axially in the piston rod 9. In a modification, the screw is held axially in the socket and engages in a nut formed in the piston rod.
