[Class 126] An incinerator for garden refuse comprises a four sided open-topped walled member having a draught opening 7 in side 3 and a cover or lid 8 movable over the member so as to provide a draught opening of variable width at the end farthest from the opening in the wall 3. Each of the sides 1, 2, 3, 4 is flanged at its vertical edges 5 and the sides 1 and 2 have inwardly pressed clips 6 which constitute guides for the flanges 5 of the sides 3 and 4. The lid 8 is flanged on three sides the rear edge 11 being unflanged and is so proportioned that when completely closed so far as the flange 10 will allow, there is a slight opening at the edge 11 to ensure a draught through the incinerator. In further embodiments of the invention the lid is either formed of two pieces hinged together the rear part being adapted to slide along the top edges of the sides 1 and 2 whilst the front part may be raised to allow of the insertion of fresh refuse or made in one part but with its longitudinal sides turned over to form grooves for slidably engaging over outwardly directed flanges on the sides 1 and 2. This latter form may also be in two hinged parts only the rear part of the lid in this case being flanged. Means may be provided for suspending a wire basket or grating for drying refuse &c., or an oven for cooking purposes over the fire. Specification 535,132 is referred to.
