Abstract
624,151. Thermal switches. REVO ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and FELTON, A. E. June 21, 1947, No. 16435 [Class 38(v)] In a thermostatically-controlled iron, the bimetal element 7 is mounted on a carrier plate 2 secured to the upper side of the sole-plate 1 in a recess 1a in, but not in direct contact with, the sole plate, in order to provide a slower response to changes in temperature of the sole plate. The plate 2 also carries a bridge piece 9 bearing the pivot 8 of a structure of contact springs 10, 11, the former being bent downwardly at one end to embrace a metal bush 15 into which is threaded an adjustable screw 16 bearing on a peg 18 which bears on the element 7. A screw 24, carried by bridge piece 9 and bearing on the contact assembly, provides for adjustment of the operating temperature.
