624,023. Drying presses for wood. BRUNLER, O. Dec. 19, 1946, Nos. 37386 and 37387. Convention dates, March 1 and Dec. 7. [Class 34(ii)] Boards of fresh timber are placed in a press, heated to 160‹-280‹C at a pressure of 200-1,000 lbs. per sq. in. for a period of ¥ to 4 minutes to drive off the moisture, season the wood and disperse the wood resins evenly into the wood. The pressure is then gradually reduced through a needle valve. The plates have temperature indicators and are of such thickness (¢ in. to 4 in.) that their temperatures do not drop more than 10‹C while the boards are in the hydraulic press. Specification 7104/98, [Class 34], is referred to.
