Abstract
623,855. Clips. FORD, W. G. May 19, 1947, No. 13464. [Class 44] A Z-shaped bracket for securing together lining sheets, fibre boards and the like comprises two horizontal limbs 10 and 12 connected by a vertical web 14 integral with them. The lower limb 12 is formed with a slot 16 for receiving the stem 18 of a round-headed screw 20. This slot extending into the web forms the narrower slot-part 24 leading to a semi-circular part 26 which is of greater width and is large enough to receive the rounded head of the screw. The two shallow shoulders 28 formed at the junction of the two slot parts 24 and 26 constitute abutment means for preventing the bracket from being shaken out of position if the screw works loose Modifications are described in which a plurality of slots are formed as above, each to receive a fastening screw, or a square headed stud may be employed in which case the upper part 26 of the slot in the web is correspondingly shaped.
