622,946. Dental engine attachments. FREEDMAN, H. Oct. 28, 1946, No. 31906. [Class 81(ii)] A dental engine having a pair of pivotally connected arms, one arm 15 carrying a hand piece 13 and the other 14 a hook to receive the hand piece, is provided with magnetic means for retaining the arm 15 in inoperative position. A horse shoe magnet 21 and a bar magnet 22 are supported on the arms 14 and 15 respectively by members 23 and 30 which are clamped to sleeves 27 and 32 in which the arms are rotatable, the sleeves being carried by rectangular members 28 and 33. Extensions of the clamps 26 and 31 engage with opposite faces of the stationary rectangular members. The bar magnet 22 is attached to the clamp 31 by two springs 35. In a modification, no bar magnet is provided, the sleeve 31 being made of magnetic material.
