Abstract

622,708. Fuel-injection pumps. C. A. V., Ltd., BROOK, K., and EVANS, F. M. Feb. 22, 1947, No. 5246. Addition to 581,878. [Class 102(i)] An improvement in the thrust member for a fuel-injection pump as claimed in the parent Specification wherein means are provided for preventing the displacement of the adjusting shim should the two parts of the thrust member tend to be separated, e.g. through seizure of the pump plunger. As shown in Fig. 3 a spring ring 11 is inserted in the part 5 and the end 12 extends through holes 13, 14 in the parts 5, 4 respectively to prevent separation of the parts. In Fig. 2, a spring 10 is illustrated as arranged between the part 5 and the shim 7. Alternatively a spring ring may be inserted in the groove 8 and bearing in the shim 7.
